A $642B Market Opportunity

In Deloitte’s report published in 2023 (New Deloitte report: Emerging green hydrogen market set to help reshape global energy map by end of decade, creating US$642 billion market by 2030), it is estimated that the global hydrogen market will grow to c.$642B by 2030.

By 2050, forecasts indicate that hydrogen will:

Power c.400 million passenger cars

Provide 18% of the world's total energy needs

Support 20 million trucks and 5 million buses

Create 30 million jobs globally

Innovation

Hydrogen Power Systems

While the adoption of battery electric technology has helped us decarbonize many sectors, there remain critical use cases where these solutions are inadequate, such as commercial vehicles, marine, and aerospace, where weight, range, refuelling time and power requirements are critical.

In these circumstances, batteries face the challenge of ‘mass compounding’, meaning that as power and range requirements increase, the size of the battery also scales, reducing the range and load capacity of the vehicle.

As the most abundant element in the universe, hydrogen can be used to store energy at scale for long periods of time - think of it as nature’s battery. This makes hydrogen an ideal alternative for many off-grid and mobile applications and a key solution to reducing emissions where battery-electric technologies are insufficient.

Viritech is a leading developer of innovative hydrogen power systems, including hardware, software, power electronics, battery pack solutions, and composite pressure vessel technology.

Importantly, our solutions are designed to facilitate and accelerate the adoption of hydrogen-powered systems for the automotive, aerospace, marine and distributed power sectors.

Competitive Advantage

Hydrogen’s Accelerating Technology Curve

Currently, hydrogen power technologies lag behind their battery equivalents by c.15 years, with manufacturing costs and supply yet to scale and deliver cost parity.

However, growing investment around the world is now helping to close this gap.

Viritech’s industry-leading technologies and engineering expertise are already delivering hydrogen power systems. With the target of achieving payload and performance equivalent to gasoline and diesel alternatives, we aim to position hydrogen as an increasingly attractive solution for a wide range of applications.

Roadmap/Use of Funds

Commercial Scale-up

Following an intensive four-year investment in R&D, Viritech has quickly established itself as a leader in advanced hydrogen power technologies and engineering solutions, with applications for the automotive, aerospace, marine and distributed power sectors.

Now entering our fourth year, we have reached a pivotal stage in our journey as we seek to transition from a core focus on R&D to commercial scale-up. This shift has been marked by a series of recent product launches along with commercial projects completed in the automotive, marine and distributed power sectors.

Currently, Viritech's revenue focus is on the provision of engineering services, vehicle retrofitting, and product sales, with the longer-term aim of generating high-margin, recurring licensing royalties from our growing portfolio of hydrogen power technologies.
